Lenny & Darla are a husband and wife team of displaced Las Vegas performers still looking for their big break. Although some would call them 'has-beens'... a more accurate term would be 'never-weres'. But don't tell them that. Even though they left the bright lights and neon signs of Vegas behind years ago, they continue to plan their triumphant return to take their rightful place alongside the great Vegas legends.
Five years ago when the marginally talented Lenny was working a cheesy nightclub in Las Vegas, and the marginally coordinated Darla was pursuing her dream of becoming the greatest showgirl Vegas had ever seen, an amazing thing happened one night. They met, got really drunk, fell in love, had sex, and got married. Yes, all in one night. Little did they know that this blessed union was to become a self-made purgatory as they quickly discovered that the depth of their love was matched only by their innate ability to drive each other completely insane. Basically they can't live with or without each other. This terminal condition manifests itself in witty banter, petty arguments, perfectly timed insults, poorly timed PDA's and lot's of break-ups & make-ups as Lenny & Darla negotiate their lives loving to hate each other and hating to love each other.
At the heart of the success of Lenny & Darla is the remarkable on-stage chemistry that exists between the people who bring them to life: Robert Fulton & Leslie Seiler. Rob & Leslie are two talented actors/comedians/improvisers that have been working together for many years. They've developed such a rapport that finishing each other sentences and setting up each other's punch lines has become second nature. Indeed reviewers have said of them "they're so likeable it's impossible not to laugh at their antics."
Fulton & Seiler first brought Lenny & Darla to life at the 2004 Hamilton & Halifax Fringe Festivals in their big hit "Lenny & Darla: From Vegas with Love" written, directed and performed by Seiler & Fulton. Wildly successful at both festivals reviewers called it "a must see", "entertaining and endearing", and declared "Seiler and Fulton relish the Vegas stereotypes and give their characters a naked humanity." It was named the best comedy of the Hamilton Festival. From there Lenny & Darla have gone on to host events at the legendary Second City in Toronto, charity events and fundraisers across Canada and have hit the comedy open mic circuit.
